Microsoft Reader Error Message: Unhandled Exception 0xC0000005: AV

Symptoms
When you start Microsoft Reader on a desktop or a laptop computer, youmay receive the following error message:

Unhandled exception 0xC0000005: AV
Resolution
This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:Less than 300 megabytes (MB) of space is available on yoursystem hard disk (the hard disk on which Microsoft Windowsis installed).Less than 300 MB of space is available on the hard disk onwhich the Microsoft Reader software is installed.

FIX: A NullReferenceException error occurs when you run a .NET Framework 2.0 program

Symptoms
When you run a Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 program, aNullReferenceException error occurs, or you receive an access violation error message. If you debug the crash, you find an access violation in the MSCORJIT!emitter::emitJumpDistBind function.
Resolution
This problem occurs because of an optimization bug in the just-in-time (JIT) compiler.

FIX: A .NET Framework 2.0-based application may experience an ArgumentNullException exception and may exit unexpectedly

Symptoms
When you run a Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0-based application, the application may experience an ArgumentNullException exception and may exit unexpectedly (crash).
Resolution
This problem occurs because the FileSystemWatcher class throws an unhandled ArgumentNullException exception. This exception is generated because a race condition occurs between events that raise loops and the StopRaisingEvents method.

Fatal Exception Error Message with Comspeed Version 2.14

Symptoms
When you upgrade to Windows 98, or after you install Cordes Comspeedversion 2.14, you may receive a fatal exception error message on a bluescreen. This behavior may be repeated when you restart your computer.
Resolution
This behavior can occur if you are running Cordes Comspeed version 2.14.Windows 98 is not compatible with the type of .vxd file used by thisprogram.

Fatal Exception Error Accessing Windows NT Share From Windows 95

Symptoms
When you attempt to open a file or folder on Windows NT shared networkdrive that is on a NTFS partition, you may receive the following errormessage:

A Fatal Exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C0231810 in VXD VMM(0D) +00001810.
The current Application will be terminated.
Resolution
This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions exist:The file or folder you are attempting to open has a long file name.You have disabled short file name (standard 8.3 naming) creation on theWindows NT computer.

Fatal Exception 0E When Shutting Down Using a Matrox Video Adapter

Symptoms
When you attempt to shut down or restart your computer, you may receive the following error message:

A Fatal Exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C00082CD in VxD VMM(01) +000072CD
Resolution
This issue can occur if you have an incompatible or early version of a Matrox video driver installed on your computer.
