Symptoms
When you try to run a program, the following Dr. Watson error message may be displayed:

An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.
<Program.exe>
Exception: hardcoded-breakpoint (0×80000003), Address: 0×77f76274Where <Program.exe> is the name of your program’s executable file. The Address value may be different.
Resolution
This problem occurs if a program makes a request for memory with the MEM_TOP_DOWN flag set. A bad pointer may be returned, causing the Dr. Watson error message.

Symptoms
When you view an activity form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:

Resolution
This problem occurs because the FormDescriptor object caches some entity metadata. Therefore,an ArgumentNullException exception occurs.

Symptoms
You have a Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2003 application that uses multiple application domains. When you try to call managed code from unmanaged code in a DLL that has already been loaded in another application domain, you may receive the following error message:

An unhandled exception of type ‘System.NullReferenceException’ occurred in mscorlib.dll
Additional information: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.Note In some scenarios, you may receive one of the following error messages:

Resolution
You may notice this problem if your application contains unmanaged code and uses multiple application domains.
For example, if you have an application that uses multiple application domains that use a set of DLLs, you can successfully load and use these DLLs in the first application domain. However, when you try to call the managed code in one of these DLLs from unmanaged code in a different (second) application domain, the behavior that is mentioned in the “Symptoms” section of this article occurs. The application does not load the managed code in the second application domain because the code has already been loaded in another application domain that is in the same process.

Symptoms
You run a Visual Basic application that uses the CreateObject function tostart a hidden instance of Microsoft Word. The application is idle, but itstill maintains a reference to Word. Next, you manually start an instanceof Word. A separate instance of Word should open, but the same instancethat was created by the Visual Basic application is made active instead. Ifyou close Word and continue to work in the Visual Basic application, one of the following errors occurs when the application tries to use Word objectsbecause Word is no longer running:

Run-time error ‘462′:
The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable
-or-

Run-time error ‘-2147023174 (800706ba)’:
Automation errorThis automation error translates to “The RPC server is unavailable.”
Resolution
Use one of the following to work around this problem:Before you create your Word object, first create a temporary Wordobject. After you create your object, close the temporary object. Thiscauses Word to act properly when you control it through Automation (thatis, if a user interactively starts Word, a new instance of Word isopened for the user). The automation instance remains hidden andseparate. See the Steps to Reproduce Behavior section for an example ofthis workaround.Make the Word object visible immediately after using the CreateObjectfunction. This workaround is only for Microsoft Word 97. For example:

Set wrdApp = CreateObject(“Word.Application”)wrdApp.Visible = True

Symptoms
FRxReportManager.exe – Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0×400 (1024), Thread id=0×4c4 (1220).
Click OK to terminate the application.Click CANCEL to debug the application.
This error occurs when trying to launch Report Manager that is installed as a network client (thin client).
Resolution
This error will occur when the user has insufficient permissions to the Report Manager directory on the server.

Symptoms
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0xc48(3144), Thread id=0×29c(668).Click OK to terminate the application.Click Cancel to debug the application.This error occurs when starting the Analytical Accounting Wizard from the FRx v6.7 Program Group on a Windows 2003 Server.
Resolution
This is a Code Access Security issue. This stand-alone application does not modify any .NET framework to allow for this to run successfully.
