Error messages when you try to merge certain records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0: “Error. To obtain more information, contact the system administrator”

Symptoms
When you try to merge certain records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:

Error. To obtain more information, contact the system administrator. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true: A record that you want to merge is a subordinate record of a master record. For example, you want to merge contact record A and contact record B. Contact record B is a subordinate record of contact record A.The subordinate record that you want to merge is associated with another record. For example, contact record B is associated with task record A. The Reparent Cascade setting for the record relationship between two entities is set to Cascade User-Owned. For example, the Reparent Cascade setting for the record relationship between the contact entity and the task entity is set to Cascade User-Owned.
Additionally, if you try to select a value in the lookup field for the relationship between the two entities, you receive the following error messages:

Resolution
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Error Message: This Program Has Caused a Fatal Exception 0D at 00457:000040B1 and Will Be Terminated

Symptoms
When you start Windows, you may receive the following error message on ablue screen:

WINDOWS This program has caused a Fatal Exception 0D at 00457:000040B1 and will be terminated.Pressing any key causes the screen to turn black and the computer to stopresponding (hang).
Resolution
This error message can occur if you are using Adobe Type Manager withcertain video adapter drivers and the Hardware Acceleration setting is not set to Full.

Error Message: STOP 0×00000001e KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED in Win32k.sys

Symptoms
When you restart your computer, you may receive the following error message:

STOP 0×0000001e KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED in win32k.sys
or

STOP 0xC000021A {Fatal System Error}The Windows Logon Process terminated unexpectedly.
Resolution
This behavior can occur if you downloaded the Backdoor.NTHack virus from a remote host into your computer. This virus is initiated by the Dl.bat file in the InetPub\Scripts folder.
As a result, both the Firedaemon.exe and Sud.exe files are installed on the computer as well as the Os2srv.exe and Mmtask.exe files, which along with the Sud.exe and Index.exe files are run as services.

Error Message: Dr. Watson Exception (0×80000003)

Symptoms
When you try to run a program, the following Dr. Watson error message may be displayed:

An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.
<Program.exe>
Exception: hardcoded-breakpoint (0×80000003), Address: 0×77f76274Where <Program.exe> is the name of your program’s executable file. The Address value may be different.
Resolution
This problem occurs if a program makes a request for memory with the MEM_TOP_DOWN flag set. A bad pointer may be returned, causing the Dr. Watson error message.

Error Message: A Fatal Exception 06 Has Occurred at…

Symptoms
During Microsoft Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition Setup, you may receive the following error message:

A fatal exception 06 has occurred at <XXXX>:<XXXXXXXX>.
Resolution
This behavior can occur if an earlier version of McAfee’s VirusScan (anti-virus software) or Norton AntiVirus is being loaded from the Autoexec.bat file.

Error message when you view an activity form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0: “Exception of type ‘System.Web.HttpUnhandledException’ was thrown”

When you view an activity form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:

Resolution
This problem occurs because the FormDescriptor object caches some entity metadata. Therefore,an ArgumentNullException exception occurs.
