How to Become an Affiliate Marketer

01/24/2010

For those new to online business a topic that has more than likely has come up is affiliate marketing.? Affiliate marketing is the process of making money online by advertising another websites products or services.? If you are new to being a webmaster or blogger affiliate marketing should be a consideration if you plan to make money online. First though you will need to build a web presence which is receiving a decent amount of traffic.? If you would like to learn how to build a website then I would recommend visiting w3schools.com.?These guys have a huge amount of free tutorials teaching people html, css, javascript, and any other web language that is needed to build a website.? Now if you would prefer to take an easier route when attempting to make money online then perhaps you should consider blogging.? You can create your free blog at blogger.com, wordpress.com and typepad.com just to name a few.? Once you have decided which web presence you would like to introduce to the web your next task should be building traffic.

?Building traffic is truly one of the most difficult tasks of being a webmaster or blogger.? It is much more difficult than creating new content or choosing which layout you would like to use.? Website marketing will more than likely take up 80% of your time especially if you are attempting to gain a coveted first page on Google’s SERPs (search engine ranking pages) for a competitive keyword.? Now to get to the top of any major search engine there are a couple of things you will want to do.? First and most important is having a website or blog that is useful and having the content updated daily.? The next thing that you should work on is building backlinks.? A backlink is your URL on someone else’s website.? There are many ways to build backlinks such as submitting to free directories, social bookmarking sites, blog commenting, article writing, and guest posting.? If you would like to know how many backlinks would be necessary to gain a first page for a particular keyword then type it into Google and go down the list checking the number of backlinks on each by going to yahoo and typing link:www.theirurl.com.? Now once you have reached the top of SERPs and begin receiving a decent amount of organic traffic it is time to decide which affiliate program will be most helpful in capitalizing on your traffic.

?One of the biggest questions throughout forums and other media which webmasters communicate is “I am getting XXXX amount of traffic how do I make money off it?”? To answer this should be on a case by case basis.? Personally I think a mistake most webmasters make is rather than finding something that would actually help their visitor they prefer to take the easy way out and sign up with a Google Adsense account.? Google Adsense is a program that Google offers which places ads on your website of related websites then pays you for each visitor that clicks off your website or blog.? I think the only time to use Google Adsense is when there is no other helpful affiliate program.? For example I run a website that teaches people how to make money online without a web presence I chose to advertise for websites that paid people to work for them.? In turn I get paid for everything that the visitor does for the website that I referred them to.? I also run a blog about fishing and rather than use adsense I chose to use click bank which is a massive marketplace where you can pick and chose which product you would like to offer on your website or blog then are paid a commission for each sale usually much higher than a click on an ad.? So before opting for a PPC (pay per click) system it may be in your best interest to look through some of the other options such as amazon.com, clickbank.com, and other affiliate programs. Truly though once you get the traffic deciding how to make money should not be that hard just take the time to look through your options before deciding.

Google Adwords - the Basics Behind This PPC Advertising Program and How you Can Get Inexpensive, Targeted Traffic

01/11/2010

Google Adwords is by far the most popular PPC advertising platform on the Internet. The reasons are simple: a well-designed user interface, a large number and variety of publishers, display the ads, and above all a long history of positive ROI for advertisers. Adwords can be intimidating and new users, but it's really not very difficult, the skills you need to learn how to get started.

This article is meant to be a basic introduction to Adwords. So if you are already very familiar with it, this might be review. The first problem most people have with Adwords is setting to and sticking with a budget. Most people get frustrated because they haven't bid enough for their clicks, resulting in their ads having a low position. After a couple days of poor results, most new advertisers quickly increase their bids and the results is a pile of expensive traffic that brings back little, if any, return. When you make your Adwords account, set a small budget. Use keyword tools (many of which are available on the links page of this website) to determine which searches are most popular and try to find searches that other advertisers haven't thought of. This is the best way of getting cheap traffic to your website(s), since less competition means lower cost per click.

However, cheap traffic is not necessarily good traffic. Let me repeat that again, just because you are getting cheap clicks from Adwords does not mean you are using your advertising dollars effectively. Targeted traffic is the key. If your website is selling software tutorials and you bid on phrases such as “free software” or “download photoshop” you might very well get many, many visitors (very inexpensively), but I can guarantee that your conversion rate (sales/visitor) will be horrible. Even key phrases like “free tutorials” will fail to create a positive return. Generally, never use the word “free” in your ads, unless you are actually giving something away for free. Users will click, costing you money, but are almost never interested in shelling out cash for a product.

Conversely, if you use the words "buy" or "buy" key phrases will reduce the number of clicks you receive, but certainly will increase the conversion rate and return on investment. Let us go back to my earlier example, the key phrases in the tender, such as "buy website making tutorial" or "Professional Photoshop Tutorial", allowing you to purchase your product sales and are willing to spend money, if your product meets their needs a sense of Interested visitors. I have AdWords, article, I will discuss strategies in order to write high-quality ads to help improve your click-through rate and conversions through.

Generating Online Website Traffic

01/07/2010

With regard to the truth about generating traffic online website

It is easy to build a website these days, with many of the free blogger networks offering everything from ready-made templates to HTML tutorials. It is that easy, but generating traffic to your website, well that's another matter. With almost anyone propping up a website or two, getting the right amount of attention will take some effort on your part. It is, in a way, similar to a bookshop seeking customers. With many new 'bestsellers' vying for shelf-space, the only way these books get picked up is as a result of 'getting the word out'. That phrase is the key to generating a healthy dose of internet traffic to your website. The major handicap that most internet marketers face is a lack of internet traffic, mainly because they failed to get the word out.

You can start by incorporating a feed on your website, try 'feedburner' ( a google tool that allows blog owners and podcasters the ability to manage their RSS feeds and track usage of their subscribers), as that seems to be the popular choice and it is free to use - which is an additional incentive. The point is that any time you add fresh content to your site, it gets converted into a 'feed', making it possible for many feed subscribers to access it immediately. The whole idea behind the 'feeds' is that it makes content available to multiple internet users and provides content in real time, allowing you to garner some valuable traffic in the process. Now feeds are just a small step in the right direction. You will need to make sure that your site url is posted to the various search engines out there thereby increasing your site's reach.

You can visit other websites; provide comments to blogs resulting in valuable one way links. You can utilize some of the paid traffic sites to increase your traffic. Though webmasters do use the paid traffic option as a marketing tool, it works only if the traffic provided is real and not one delivered by 'web robots' (used for web-spidering at a much higher speed than humanly possible). It's essential that you check out the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page of the 'paid traffic' site to see if the site in question provides this source of traffic. If they do not, then you can be sure that the traffic delivered by such sites is not that beneficial.

Article marketing, the present method seamlessly. 18 Sure-Fire Success Tips For Free Traffic Generation

12/02/2009

1.) Know Your Niche, This is key to getting traffic to any website. You have to know more than the average person on the topics and items related to your industry.

2.) Keyword Research - This is the most overlooked step, but most important step. You need to do extensive keyword research. I use Google's Keyword Tool that is free, but I also recommend using WordTracker. You need to find what are the most looked up keywords and phrases for your industry. It is OK to target the most competitive because if you build it right, you will be blowing your competitors away.

3.) Relative Keyword research - Be sure that you have included many relative keywords in your pages Meta tags as well. This is a huge deal with the algorithms today. There is a difference between keyword stuffed and have relevant keywords. Relevant keywords help build PR (PageRank).

4.) build the structure - keywords must be included in the URL that is the best way for Google and other search engines to see you and give you relevant. You are now many websites with a hyphen

5. ) Directory listing - This is an ancient method, some people gave up, but it is still valid. Remember, the goal here is to build traffic, so if you are serious, put your link in as many places. Through the directory listing, you will get a one-way link back to your site, this is a great thing to improve your public relations. Is not your traffic, but PR is a way to allow you to Google's largest web, thereby allowing more traffic. Reciprocal link is not the best solution, but if you are new, and sometimes you have to do so. If you can do one aspect is much better. A one-way link to a higher search engine rankings, therefore, to concentrate on those.

6.) Link Exchange - Again, reciprocal link is not as highly rated, but it is still very effective. You need to exchange links with as many websites as humanly possible and for best results make sure they are RELEVANT!!! What this means is it's not a good idea to have a recording studio site and have a lot of links exchanged with a food site. It is a good idea for a recording studio to be exchanged with other music related sites though such as CD mastering, mp3s, other recording sites, etc... This shows a great deal of relevance with search engines. One key, do not name your links page "links.html" or anything of the sort...it's a dead give away to search engines and they do not appreciate it. Be creative, recording-studio-resources.html or something like that. Note, no more than 50 links on a page!!!

7.) Article Writing - This has proven as of recent to be a great method to produce traffic. The goal here is to get both one-way backlinks (on some sites) and traffic in an all-in-one step. Here's the key to writing good articles, you must spin every article your write. What this means is change the articles. Each article generates traffic too...that's the beauty.

8.) Article Submission - The key
here, submit to directories every 2 days or so with your URL in the "Resource Box", not in the Body of the article. If you put your URL in the body, most articles directories will decline you.

9.) Forum, Blogging, etc. - Always be focused on finding new outlets to generate traffic. For example, forums are a big deal. Get on a schedule to constantly help others in forums, discussion boards, blogs, etc... This will prove you as an expert and in return people will trust you. To benefit from this, be sure to have your signature file included and don't spam the sites...this will not help you.

10.) Updating your Content - To keep the visitors coming back for more, you must constantly update your site and have unique content that you cannot get anywhere else. (comes with knowing your niche, section 1). This keeps the visitors coming back for more and will get your site linked to by others because of your content. Free backlinks!!!

11) RSS Feeds - Create an RSS Feed of your website, and make sure to update it when your website is updated. You can use resources like Feedburner to create RSS feeds. Place your RSS feed in the header using the <link> tag.

<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="My Site's Content" onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.mywebsite.com/content.rss.xml">

This will allow your website's RSS feed gain in traction from robots surfer the internet for RSS feeds, and will create a snowball effect of growing backlinks.

12) RSS feed announcement - as much as you can send RSS feeds (your RSS feed on the (s) to) directory. Search, Google is

13) Ping Blog Pinging Sites like Google Blog, Ping-O-Matic.com, Goat-O-Matic.com, and others every time your update your RSS feed. They have automated ways of sending pings to them with each update. If you are not a programmer, you may need some assistance with creating an automated pinging program and setting up a cron job (This is an application on Linux/Unix system that automatically runs a script/command/program for you at a given specified time)

14) Create a news / press release section on your website, where visitors can go to see new things. Have it updating regularly, and create an RSS feed of that section, and repeat the previous RSS feed methods mentioned to increase exposure for the feed.

15) RSS aggregate Industry news feeds onto your site, and submit them to RSS feeds submission sites as well. To RSS aggregate mean you will gather as many RSS feeds of your industry's top plays, or news outlet, and create one super RSS feed of it. Then place the RSS feed display in the news section, and/or a ticker on your site. Make sure it is readable by spider, since this will create the effect of you becoming an industry portal. The spiders will see new information on your site all the site, and use your site to navigate to other sites. Which in return will result in your site becoming an authority site, and increasing the traffic that is sent to your site by the search engines.

16) To establish things film related to the "page rank of your industry, such as a video tutorial," and stating that if you are in the Internet marketing fields. On YouTube, after the Metacafe and video as much as possible of the video site, and your site. Make sure you have the video links to your site and placed a watermark or your entire web site video site. Preferably in the beginning and end of the video. This alone can increase 500%, your site's traffic. I am on a Web site, YouTube to send 500 to 1,000 a day, I am a new visitor!

How You Can Instantly Tap Into an Unlimited Source of Content, for Free!

11/30/2009

Are you looking for dynamic, automatically refreshing, sticky content to spice up your website?

If you are a webmaster, you will know how difficult it is to attract new content to your subscribers and create new traffic to your website. Paying freelance writers can cost you a fortune if you are just at the beginning and not site revenue to finance the cost of writing the article itself is far too much time and takes you away from other important tasks (like actually running the place and make sales can happen).

Luckily, there's a little-known but extremely easy tool that you can use to instantly jazz up your website and provide your traffic with valuable information. In fact, you might have heard of this tool before. Headline syndication, aggregators, XML format?

Sound familiar?

Yup, I'm talking about RSS Feeds.

If you haven't heard about RSS Feeds, or what they are, I strongly urge you to print out this article, go to a quiet corner where you won't be disturbed and literally devour every word of the rest of this article. Not only will it probably save your business, but it will revolutionize the way you think about the Internet.

And if you've come across RSS feeds before or used them, then skim through the next section to refresh your memory (seriously, there is a lot of useful information that you might be missing out on) and then dive into the meat of this article, which will show you how to set up RSS feeds on your website to display dynamic, self-updating content with very little effort.

What Is RSS?

RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary", although other terms such as "RDF Site Summary" (which emphasizes the file format) and "Really Simple Syndication" (which highlights the main selling point of RSS) are also useful in defining RSS by the book. However, bookish definitions don't always explain things very well. What really is RSS?

RSS is a platform over which a webmaster can instantly deliver summarized information about the latest / most important content on his website. This summary is usually a list of headlines and snippets - the headline will instantly inform the reader of what this new article or page contains and the snippet (usually the first few lines of the article) is to further entice the reader into visiting the website, or to simply give the reader more information. RSS has evolved into a commonly accepted XML standard, and many websites now use RSS Feeds (XML files containing the summaries) to publish "updates" about themselves.

Viewed from the perspective of a webmaster, an RSS feed is meant the visitors and participants to enable an easy way to keep abreast of fresh content on their site (without being on the website first). Additionally, an RSS feed that allows the reader to

Using An RSS Feed

As an internet entrepreneur can, one of your main tools will be an RSS reader. This is basically an aggregator - a collection of RSS feeds (you can add or remove) from different sites you are interested in. A typical RSS reader, would contain RSS feeds from news sites, sports facilities, and perhaps a few niche sites (such as SEO forums, blogs about SEO, etc.). The main aim of this software, inform you about the latest news and content on web pages you are interested in.

If you have used My Yahoo!(my.yahoo.com) or Bloglines(www.bloglines.com), you've probably used RSS Feeds already. These are online RSS aggregators - you get to choose from numerous websites and within minutes you can have your own launch-pad for knowing everything that's happening in your niche, in the world, or in sports.

As a first step to understanding how RSS Feeds work, I'd suggest that you use at least one RSS Aggregator - either an online RSS tool or RSS reading software like SharpReader(www.SharpReader.net) - and subscribe to a few RSS Feeds to learn how it works from a user's perspective.

Marketing and RSS

Using RSS Feeds, websites can:

? Attract more customers / visitors. ? Keep subscribers informed of new developments ? Allow subscribers to instantly learn of new articles, content and products on their website. ? Reduce the load on the subscriber's inbox by reserving newsletters for important news, special product offers, etc.

As a webmaster, you can use RSS Feeds to your advantage. Since blogging became insanely popular over two years ago, RSS Feeds have become mainstream. In other words, no matter what your niche, there's a good chance that you'll be able to find a few authority sites that publish RSS Feeds, thus syndicating their latest headlines.

How can you use this?

By providing your visitors relevant, self-refreshing content in the shape of the "latest news" by using RSS feeds from niche-relevant websites.

Now I'm not saying that you should cover your whole website (or even one whole page) with RSS Feeds. Such practice is frowned upon by search engines and will actually get your website banned from every single search engine index! RSS Feeds are meant for headline syndication, not for content scrapping.

Instead, you could use headlines from the top 3 forums in the weight loss niche to show the latest discussion threads on one side of the "News" page of your own weight loss website. The rest of the page would, of course, be covered with information (i.e. latest news) about your own website.

Or you could put a news ticker on your politics blog to not only give your blog a look of "being updated" but to also provide your readers with relevant, useful information.

If you sell sports goods and own an online store, you could run a "sports news" feed on your main page to attract the attention of your visitors and give your website a more authentic look and feel. There are many different ways you can use RSS Feeds to add value to your website. Make sure though, that you are merely using these Feeds as "icing on the cake", and not as the whole cake itself.

Finding RSS Feeds

Finding RSS Feeds is easy; there are several RSS-specific directories and niche search engines for you to browse through. However, the surge of blogging in the last two years has meant that any RSS search tool is inundated with blog spam. This makes it a bit harder to find RSS Feeds that you can actually use.

I've listed a few resources below that can help you get started in your search for finding relevant RSS Feeds.

? Bloglines (www.bloglines.com) ? BlogPulse (www.blogpulse.com) ? Daypop (www.daypop.com) ? Feedster (www.feedster.com) ? Findory Blogory (findory.com/blogs) ? Gigablast Blog Search (blogs.gigablast.com) ? IceRocket Blog Search (www.icerocket.com/?tab=blog) ? PubSub (www.pubsub.com) ? Technorati (www.technorati.com)

Once you've found the RSS Feeds of your choice, it's time to find out how to set them up on your website.

Setting up an RSS Feed to Display on your Website

Internet Marketers are a particular breed; we're always looking for an "easier" or "quicker" way of doing things; not necessarily shortcuts, but just ways to work smarter. It's the same with RSS. When I first came across it, I immediately went to Google and not only picked out a tool that could help me syndicate my own website (so I wouldn't have to spend time learning XML), but I also found several tools that I could use to display RSS Feeds from other websites onto mine! These tools are ridiculously simple, and I'd fully suggest that you try them before venturing into learning how to display RSS Feeds on your webpages through code.

If your website is in PHP, you can use the following software:

CaRP (www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/)

This software also has a free version, which displays a simple ad in the middle of the news display saying something like "these news headlines brought to you by CaRP". Try it out; it's easy to use, and will teach a lot about managing RSS Feeds.

There are JavaScript alternatives available as well (in case your website uses plain HTML).

Jawfish (www.geckotribe.com/rss/jawfish/)

Like CaRP, Jawfish also has a free trial, which is once again easy to setup if you can follow step-by-step instructions.

FeedRoll (www.feedroll.com/rssviewer/)

Another JavaScript alternative is FeedRoll - this is perhaps the easiest to use of the three mentioned here, but it offers less flexibility and choice of feeds compared to the others.

Of course, if you want more options (or have ASP or something on your website), go to your search engine of choice and type in "How to display RSS Feeds on my website" to get a quick listing of articles, tutorials and more tools to help you out.

More RSS

RSS is an amazingly versatile platform that can be used from anything as simple as running a news ticker to something as topical and time-sensitive as providing weather alerts to affected areas. In fact, any information that is:

? regularly updated ? time sensitive ? new

can be a good candidate for an RSS Feed. The key here is to remember that there are always new uses for information and technology... it's just a matter of pinning them down.

Impression:

Impression is a measure of how many times an ad has been viewed. How many people have viewed a banner ad or received an "impression" by seeing the ad - is a measurement of responses from the ad delivery system. Once a visitor has viewed a banner on a web page - an impression is recorded. Banner views are different from page views in the sense that there may be multiple banner views within one page view. There's another distinction between page
view and banner view - some banner serving software do not count a banner view unless the visitor stays on the page long enough for the banner to be fully downloaded from ad server.

CPM:

CPM refers to cost per thousand (M here stands for 'Mille' - the Roman numeral used to represent 1000). CPM is commonly used by the advertising industry to describe how many people have viewed the banner ad (ad view) or received an "impression" by seeing the ad. In other words, this is the price an advertiser pays for displaying his/her banner 1,000 times.

For example, an advertising rate of $10 CPM, means the advertiser is paying $10 for every 1,000 impressions, or $0.01 for each banner impression.

1000 = 50,000 impressions

If percentage of click thorough is 2 - 4%, advertiser may expect ~ 1000 - 2000 new customers visiting his/her web-site. This is apart from brand building based on number of impressions.

In Click-Through mode - Advertisers pays a fixed fee for every click, no matter what is the number of impressions.

In time-based banner advertisements (typical in India), advertiser pays a fixed fee based on monthly or quarterly rate, irrespective of the number of impression or click-thorough.
